Family business series delivered in partnership with UOB Private Bank

London & Singapore, 4th August 2016 – CNBC, the world’s leading business and financial news network, today announced the premiere of a new weekly series, Lasting Legacy.

Each week, Lasting Legacy will take viewers behind the scenes on some of Europe’s most successful family businesses, to find out just how family life and company strategy cross over. How does a company decide what is best for the brand, rather than the family? And how do they decide when to hand the reigns down to the next generation?

Lasting Legacy will be hosted by CNBC presenter Karen Tso, and brought to CNBC’s audiences in partnership with one of Asia’s leading financial institutions, UOB Private Bank. The first of the weekly episodes premieres on Thursday, 4th August at 5.30PM SG/HK Time in APAC and 11PM CET in EMEA.

In the first episode of the series, Lasting Legacy features the Illy family of Italy, an 83-year-old coffee powerhouse looking to bring in a new CEO to revitalise their brand. We meet Andrea Illy, Chairman of the Board and third generation of Illys in the business, and niece Daria Illy, who is one of the fourth generations of Illys working in the company. Lasting Legacy will take a look at how the younger generations of the family will respond to having a non-family CEO for the first time.
